- Until you gain more experience, be careful paying more than 5 cents per click. Refine and narrow your phrases until you get a low rate. (However at only 5 cents per click, for many keywords your CTR will be too low: I often start off bidding more than I would like to, to get my Ad in top results. Then as clicks start coming in and when I have a CTR greater than 1%- I work on refining my Ad. Then I lower my CPC and hopefully hold my position because of my good CTR)
To determine bid rates: - If each sale makes a $10 profit, and a given keyword takes 20 visitors to create a sale, then your break even point & upper bid limit is $.50 per click. The lower your bid price below this $.50 limit, the higher your profit
- In the beginning, set your bids low. As you gain experience and learn to determine what your maximum bid rate should be- then you should raise your bids to generate more traffic.
- To start, enter a low daily budget, like $5. this is a great way to test the waters without losing your shirt
- In the beginning watch your ads very closely and change them as necessary.
- Put your keyword list together first, and then draft your ad.
- Target key phrases, don’t use generic terms.
- Use the exact keywords or phrases (that you bought) in the title of your ad. It has proven to get a higher CTR.
- Test two ads at the same time. Google AdWords allows you to run two different ads with your keywords which will enable you to compare ad performances. Keep the ad with the higher CTR and replace the ad with the new one.
- Test & adjust the Ad copy as you go. Constantly tweak your Ad copy to try to get better CTRs.
- To achieve higher CTR, use exact keyword matching by putting your keyword/s in square brackets:
[Buy vitamins]
[Vitamins]
Your ad will not appear for queries that include other keywords. For the example above, the ad would not appear for free vitamins or discount vitamins. It would only appear for the keywords: buy vitamins and vitamins. - Be sure to create negative keywords for the terms that do not pertain to your promotion. This gives you more control over who sees your ads so you won’t pay for clicks that are unlikely to produce well targeted results.
If your keywords are negative-matched, your ad won’t show if the user’s search includes that word. Add the negative character (-) in front of the keyword you would like to exclude. For example, if your keyword is satellite dish and your negative keyword is –free, your ad will not show when a user searches on free satellite dish. - Always include both singular and plural versions of keywords.
- Add more keywords and more groups of keywords as you think of them.
- Create a separate Ad Group and Ads for your misspellings list, another one for your abbreviated keyword phrases, and so on.
- Double check your Affiliate URL link – make sure your Affiliate ID is in the link. Test your AdWord to make sure you end up at the desired page.
- After your campaign has been running for a couple of weeks, re-do ads with low CTR’s. Google automatically disables the keyword with very low CTR’s (less than .05%). You can get disabled keywords re-enabled by re-writing ad copy or adding new ads. Don’t give up on these ads. Just try something new.
- Keep in mind that you can stop your AdWords from running at any time by clicking on the “Pause Ad Group” link.
- Ramp up your effort during the Holiday Season. You will see a dramatic increase in clicks, and better conversion rates. That is, more people buy during that time. Try to have as many AdWords running as possible during those very lucrative months.

Once you have browsed the Google AdWords website, and read the FAQ and the setup guide, Click on the “Sign up Now” button on adwords.google.com
Then it will ask you: Choose the solution that is right for you:
Click on Starter Edition as you are new to the internet advertising and then click Continue.
There are few steps to complete:
1. Location and Language:
Location Targeting: Your ad will appear to customers located in or searching for results in, the country or territory you select. If AdWords offers region and city targeting for your area, you may target a region or city instead of the entire country. Your ad will then appear only to customers searching for results in (or located in) the location you choose.
Language Targeting: Your ad will appear only to users who speak the language you specify and who have set it as the main language of his/her Web browser. If you set Spanish as your target language, your ad will appear only to those who browse the Web in Spanish. If you set Spanish as your target language and Japan as your target country, your ad will appear only to Spanish speakers in Japan.
Please note: Google will not translate your ad for you. Your ad text will appear as you have written it.
You can change your settings at any time by clicking the Edit settings link next to your location or language settings on your My Ad Campaign page.
2. Write Your Ad:
Enter the URL that you have got from CJ from the Keyword links as explained in the previous email “Get Affiliate Link”. Please refer to that email about this. Your URL will be something as shown below:

Enter a headline: Enter the headline for your ad. It should be very attractive and try to include the keywords you want to use for this ad.

Edit the URL in the display URL by clicking on the edit button.
e.g. the default display URL will be http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-1630574-10375271
and if you want to show display URL of your advertiser e.g. www.ebay.in then just click on edit link and write www.ebay.in. When your ad will be displayed on Google, it will show the URL as www.ebay.in but the destination URL will be http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-1630574-10375271.

3. Choose Keywords:
Good keywords are critical for the success of your ad. By choosing the right keywords, you are also choosing the right audience for your ad. This means that you connect with the most potential customers, earn more sales and get the best return for your advertising investment.
You choose keywords for your ad when you first create your AdWords Starter Edition account. You can also add new keywords or edit and remove existing ones after your account has been set up. Here are some tips for choosing the right keywords:
Match your keywords to your ad text. Your keywords should be closely related to the product or service that you are advertising. Your ad will then get more clicks from people who are interested in what you have to offer.
Many new advertisers enter dozens of keywords unrelated to their ad. They pick the names of popular TV shows or general topics like "sports", thinking that this will put their ad in front of more people. The result? Most people who see the ad are looking for other topics. The advertiser wastes money on clicks from people who were not potential customers to start with.
You will save money by having a few highly relevant keywords rather than many unrelated ones. Match your keywords to your ad content and you will reach an audience that wants what you are selling.
Be specific. If you are selling roses, use specific keywords like red roses instead of general keywords like flowers. Someone searching for flowers could be looking for any kind of flower and for many different reasons. Keywords like red roses or long-stemmed roses will get you better results.
Keep it under 20. You will get the best results with a few well-chosen keywords. We suggest that you keep your Starter Edition keyword list to 20 keywords or less. That should be enough to attract the audience that you need while letting you focus on the keywords that match your ad best.
Experiment. After your ads have run for a few days, check your account to see which keywords are getting you the most clicks for the lowest prices. Refine keywords that work. Weed out keywords that do not work. If red roses is working well, try adding fresh red roses and other variations. If your budget is not being spent, try new keywords.
Very popular keywords can be very expensive because many people want to advertise on them. You may find that some keywords are too expensive for your budget or that others give you better return on your investment.
Use the keyword tool. If you are unsure of what keywords to choose when signing up, enter a term related to your ad in the box titled Want more? on the signup wizard. The AdWords system will then show you possible keywords related to the one that you entered. Carefully select the ones that best match your ad and then, click Add to move them to your keyword list.
Note: You do not need to add location names to all keywords. It can sometimes be useful to choose keywords like London real estate, but most keywords work well without location names. AdWords automatically targets your ads to the region that you select.
Once you have created your account, you can add or remove keywords by logging in to your account. At the top of the Statistics section of the My Ad Campaign page, click on the Add more keywords link. On the next page, you can again add keywords in the box provided and use the Want more? box to find related keywords. When you have finished, click Save Changes.
To delete any keyword, find the keyword in the Statistics section of the My Ad Campaign page. Click on the Delete link found in the same row as the keyword.
4. Choose your currency:
You can choose Indian Rupees from this.
5. Set your budget:
If you wanted to test the waters for a few days you could set it to 800 per month. Once that campaign has reached 800 in the clicks those Ads will no longer be shown that month.
You can set different daily budgets for each of your campaigns and you can change them any time. Once you find a winner you’ll want to raise your monthly budget to maximize your clicks.
6. Future Contact:
Just click the check box on the left hand of: Yes. Bring on the newsletters, surveys and performance tips and click on Continue.
It will take you to the different web page for final step to Set Up Account.
Click on I do not use these other services.
And it will ask you for the email address and password to enter.
Then type the characters as shown in the picture in the text box and click on Create Account button.
You will get the message:
We will send an email to the address listed above, asking you to verify your account and submit your billing information. Once you complete these steps, your ad will begin showing. After verification, you can sign in to AdWords using this email address as well as the password you specified earlier. Your ad will not run until you verify your account and provide billing information.
Look for the email from Google AdWords in your mailbox. Once you receive the email, click on the link given in the email and log into Google AdWords. Next, submit your billing information-your credit card info. After submitting the credit card information for billing, Ads will immediately start running on Google.
Track your campaigns
You will want to keep track of your campaigns and make sure that you are making money and not losing it. Simply log in to your Affiliate Program and visit the Statistics/Reporting section. See how much commission you earned that day (or for any day or date range). Then, log in to Google AdWords and see how much that corresponding Campaign cost you the same day. Subtract your costs from your commissions. The result is your profit.

Try to promote the advertisers who pay you for LEADs only as this will be easy for you.
Select only those advertisers who has got the Network Earnings of 3 green bars and more.
You can check both these criteria in the bottom of the Advertisers page where you take the Banner and Keyword link.
As a publisher of CJ, you can send promotional emails for your CJ advertisers to your friends, relatives, customers or to anyone. You have to take the banner link or text link from CJ for your advertisers (please refer your previous email “Get affiliate link” for taking links) and then you can send the link by email. Whenever someone clicks on your link, he will be sent to the advertiser’s website and if he/she takes some action like free signup with the advertisers or purchases something from the advertiser’s website, you get your commission in CJ.
This is one of the ways of marketing your advertisers. But to get better conversion from your email campaigns you must remember some of the points as given below:
- You must provide both banner link as well as text link in your email.
- You have to write some good subject as well as some good write up for your campaigns. You can put your banner and link in between the message.
- Please be sure that your message is not going to junk or bulk mail. You can try by editing some text from your campaigns.
- The email list you are using for email marketing must be opt-in so that it will not create SPAM.

Login to CJ and browse to the bottom of the page after logged in.
You will get number of Advertisers in the Dropdown Menu. These are the advertisers you have got approval from. Now check the details of all the advertisers by selecting from the menu one by one and clicking on Go button. You can check the details like what are their products and services, how much commission they are giving and what is the criteria of giving commission, network earnings and EPC in Network Performance. From these details, you can choose the best advertiser you want to promote so that you can get the maximum earning. You need to get the affiliate link of the advertiser you want to promote as CJ tracks your work through that affiliate link only.
Below we have explained steps as to how you will take Affiliate links for your Merchants

Now come to the Get Links area where there are 3 links Banner, Text Link and Keyword Link.
Click on Banner.
After clicking a new window will be opened where you will get number of banners.
Select any one or two banners by clicking on the small check box on the left hand side.
After selecting the banner, scroll to the top OR bottom where you will see 3 buttons Select Action, Select All and Perform Action.
Now select Get HTML from Select Action menu and then click on Perform Action.
Then you will get your Get HTML page with your selected banners and with your code. Also you will see different options with check boxes in front of them.
Then click the check box Yes on the right hand side of “For use in email?”
You will get the HTML code in the rectangular box below Update Link Code and your HTML code will be something like this:
Click on "Highlight code/ Copy code" button and the whole HTML will be copied.
Now open one notepad file from the Start button on your bottom left of Desktop Screen
Paste the HTML code in the notepad.
Now click on File and then save.
It will ask for the file name. Give any file name and give the extension as .html and save the file on desktop. ( e.g. suppose you want to give file name as Test then write Test.html and then save)
Then you will see the file Test on your desktop. Open the file and you will see the banner.
It will be something like this (depends on which advertisers you have selected from CJ for promotion)
This is the banner, you have to use for email marketing. You will know in our next steps, how to send this banner through email.

The above link is the affiliate link you have to use in Google AdWords or free classified. You have to use this link in Destination URL in Google AdWords. CJ tracks your work through this link only. Procedure for how to Apply for the Advertisers
Login to CJ with your username and password.
After Login come to the bottom of the page. You will find:
"Show all advertisers: in my country or servicing my country" (refer IMAGE 2, Arrow 1 in your PDF file)
Click on 'Servicing My Country'
You will get another page with Advertiser Search Result.
Results 1 - 25 <
Now come to the bottom of the page and you will something like below.
Now select 200 instead of 25 from the drop down menu. Then click on "Select All" button and then click "Apply to Program" button.
Click on Select All and then click Apply to Program. A pop-up window will appear. Scroll down the window. While scrolling down you might find some check boxes, leave them as it is and scroll till the end, until you see CONTINUE tab there. Click on continue tab. Once again if Continue option comes click on it. Now if you are able to see CLOSE tab, click on it to close the window and you will automatically come back to the Advertiser search result.
You don't need to worry if you get the message "No advertiser selected". Just click continue.
Please note that, if there is any problem in applying to the advertiser after selecting 200 advertisers, select only 25 advertisers at a time and apply. You can go to 2, 3 , 4 ... pages and follow the same procedure.
With in 1-2 days time, you will get the messages in your email from number of advertisers for the approval. You don't need to do anything with the emails. You can delete them if you wish or can keep them.
Now if you wish you can logout from your CJ.com account. We will have to wait for the approval of Merchants for 2-3 days.
